These types of analyses allow us to provide a composite snapshot of American identity. In this analysis, findings for lesbian, gay and bisexual adults do not include those who are transgender. The ATP is a group of people recruited through national, random sampling of residential addresses who have agreed to take surveys regularly.
Respondents indicated whether they are a man, a woman or nonbinary — or describe their gender in some other way. The survey is weighted to be representative of the U. LGBTQ percentage population by gender, race, ethnicity, partisan affiliation, education and other factors.
